The small and quaint township of Avenel is located between Seymour and Nagambie, and approximately 1hr 15 mins from Melbourne. Click "Location" on menu bar for map/directions.

Michael has over 20 years of bridge experience playing, teaching and directing in NSW and Victoria. Before embarking on a tree change and bridge career, Michael held several managerial and coaching positions in banking and finance in Sydney, NSW.

A strong advocate for quality and good experiences, the success and popularity of Nagambie Bridge Club is due to Michael's passion for the game, coupled by his effective teaching skills and natural ability to quickly build rapport with everyone he meets. More importantly and in true spirit of Bridge, it is also due to the friendly atmosphere fostered by the members who regularly come and play their favourite card game.

In keeping with NBC's slogan, "Nagambie Bridge: Brilliantly Fun", the Club is always looking for ways to hold exciting events and keep Bridge entertaining.

For Example, in March 2017, NBC held it's inaugural B.I.G. 2017 - Bridge in The Garden.

Normally  played within the confines of four walls, at BIG, Bridge was played outdoors! (Probably a World's First!). Players from surrounding region stretching south to Melbourne and Warrigal played in this Red Masterpoint event with a Green outlook at one of Nagambie's beautiful properties - ROSCREA.

The overwhelming success of the first Bridge in The Garden, led to consecutive BIG events in 2018 and 2019 at various beautiful Nagambie properties. These BIG events became so popular when word got around, they are sold out events with many missing out!

Sadly, the planned 2020 BIG at a property in Avenel had to be cancelled because of COVID19.

Rest assured, once the pandemic is over or it is deemed safe for such an event to be held, Nagambie Bridge Club's BIG will be back bigger and better! So, watch this space or email me to be notified.

NBC may be a small regional club but it is also one of the fastest growing clubs.

NBC is affliated with the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF), Victorian Bridge Association (VBA) and the Northern Region Victorian Bridge Association (NRVBA).

More importantly, Michael, and all regular players/members at NBC are always welcoming and helpful. You will feel "at home" playing at NBC.

Nagambie Bridge Brilliantly Fun @ Avenel

Like all games and sports, when one takes it up, one would hope to excel in it.

There are many Bridge Boooks and tools (like online bridge games and teaching aids) to help you understand the game, and learn new and more complicated conventions. These are all very good, but sometimes personal coaching is the best way to learn and improve your bridge.
