Huge Success: The Auxiliary of Nagambie HealthCare Charity Card Day

Tuesday, 31 May 2016 by Michael GOH

It was a huge success. Approximately $2,000 was raised. This was better than last year.

Over 60 people came to play their favourite card game such as Bridge, Solo & Five Hundred in support of the annual fund raising event. The largest group were without doubt the Bridge players (9 complete tables/36 players); albeit they may not have been the most boisterous. Everyone had a great time, indeed.

Delicious sandwiches and mouthwatering cakes washed down with the Nagambie Lakes region wines kept everyone happy during lunchtime. In addition, we surprised birthday girl, Jenny Tehan with a monstrous but delicous birthday cake lovingly baked by her sister, Jo Goodacre who have recently taken up bridge. Having not played bridge for awhile, Jenny teamed up with Howard Cooper to come in 2nd place for EastWest, behind Liz Gee & Di Lemon. The winners for NorthSouth went to the formidable partnership of Derek Poulton & Nick Walsh from Shepparton. Runners-up for NS were David Dorhmann & Peter Smith from Nagambie & Seymour respectively.

Full results for this Red Masterpoint event can be seen by clicking "Results".

1st prize of the raffle went to Georgia Ward who earned a house & carpet cleaning service valued $300. Georgia was over the moon with her prize.

On behalf of the organisers, NBC would like to thank all card players and volunteers.
